As you think of your true love, what do you think about? It could be your boyfriend or girlfriend or wife or husband. Which is all good and well, as you should have a deep love for them. After all, finding that wife or husband is the second most important decision of your life. Of course, your first most decision on earth is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Knowing the above, in your Christian daily living, what is your true love? Probably you will say that your true love is your love of Jesus Christ. That leads to a probing question – if Jesus Christ is your true love, then how much time do you spend in the Scriptures learning more about Him? A mother was trying to get her eight-year-old daughter to learn her Sunday School lesson. At length she took her Bible from the shelf and said, “Come, Mary I will help you learn your lesson and then you can continue playing.” “All right, Mother, but let’s study it out of Grandfather’s Bible. It is much more interesting than yours.” “Oh, no, Mary! They are exactly the same.” “Well, I think that Grandfather’s must be more interesting than yours; he reads it so much more.” Ouch! The truth be told, your Bible reading desires a little more attention, too.
The Bible looks deep within you to show you what you think and what you intend to do, based on your thinking. This is found in Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart”
Since Scripture reveals your “thoughts” and even your “intentions” it deserves to be your true love. Read it more often!
