That Needed Help

Your life is full of times when a little assistance is much needed.  This is never more the case than when a need for kindness and compassion is essential.  At those times, the compassion you receive is like a balm that soothes you as nothing else can.

When your life requires a little compassion, you feel as though nothing else matters.  It is compassion, and compassion alone that you seek.  When compassion is received, you are very grateful.  Edward L. Hayes states this well, when he said: “At the fruitful life of caring, William Booth was buried with high honor.  Next to the queen sat a shabbily dressed woman who placed a flower on the casket as it passed by.  ‘How did you know him?’ asked the queen.  The woman’s answer was simply, ‘He cared for the likes of us.’”  That compassion shown to this woman was remembered by her for all that William Booth had done for her and her family.

Just as someone may show compassion to you, just know that God, on a much larger scale, shows His compassion to you.  You do not deserve the compassion shown.  You do not deserve the compassion, that is, perhaps, the reason it means so much to you.  The Word of God assures you of this in Lamentations 3:22, “The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.”  Whenever and wherever you there is a need for compassion in your life, this verse lets you know that God delivers His compassion right on time.

As the need for compassion comes into your life, feel assured that God will deliver it right on time.  The compassion you need is only a bowed head away.  Ask and you will receive!
