Cupid”s Arrow

Think back to the first time that you had a crush on someone of the opposite sex.  More than likely, it happened when you started elementary school.  That little boy or girl caused you to focus all your affections upon them.  In your eyes, you fell in love with them.

As time passed, there were a number of others on which your affections fell.  You cannot forget that feeling of love.  Girl: “Do you love me?”  Boy: “Yes, Dear!”  Girl: “Would you die for me?”  Boy: “No…..mine is an undying love!”  Ha!  Ha!  You chuckle, but you, also, realize that the girl wants to know that the boy would love her to the ends of the earth.

The Scriptures talk a lot about love; especially, Jesus’ teaching.  Jesus let his disciples know that the world would know that they were His disciples by their love for one another.  He also tells believers that the first and second greatest commandments revolve around love.  The Bible includes a whole chapter on love to emphasize the importance of love in your life.  That chapter spends 13 verses discussing love, the Bible then says, “Pursue love” (1 Corinthians 14:1).  Yes, you are to pursue love.

As you “pursue love,” remember to love those people that God has placed in your life – a mate, a parent, a child, and those who God places in your life to share His love with them.  The Lord said that you are to love others in the same way that He loved His disciples.

Yes, you are to love everyone, but especially that mate or boyfriend/girlfriend that God places in your life.  As cupid’s arrow strikes you, reach out to that person and love them with your whole heart.  Show love to the recipient of cupid’s arrow in your life!
