The New Year is at hand; it is happening tonight at midnight. This New Year comes with hope and anticipation of a bright and shining year. Your hopes and dreams of a brighter tomorrow cause you to look forward to this New Year.
An unknown author penned these words as he/she looks forward to the coming new year: “I know not what awaits me, As dawns another year; The path untrod I cannot see, Yet knows my heart no fear! I know not whether long or short, My pilgrimage may be – But I’ll daily praise my God in song, For all His love for me. With joy I greet the year – It cannot bring me ill; Since Christ my Lord is ever near, My soul with peace to fill!” You do not know what awaits you during the coming days. But being positive and looking forward to each and every day next year, will help you get the very most out of whatever life brings you this coming year.
The Lord Jesus came to earth, as you just celebrated the birth of Christ at Christmas. What a joyous and thrilling time is Christmas. Just as Jesus was born, died on a cross, and rose again, so He will return one day. Obadiah 15 confirms that fact, “For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations.” The day that Jesus returns to the earth is call “the day of the Lord.” And His coming “is near.”
If you have never entered into a relationship with Jesus, do so right now. Tell Him you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive your sins, and accept His shed blood on the cross as payment for your sins.
If you are a Christian, let today be a time to renew your commitment to Him. Let this coming year be a huge step forward, spiritually, for you.
Yes, you await this New Year. Let this New Year be the best year of your life so far! Happy New Year!
