Predicting The Future

You look around you and see so many things that you wonder what the future holds for them.  You see political decisions that make you think about the future of your nation.  You see business decisions that make you think about the future of that organization.  You see physical and spiritual events that lead you to think about what the Bible calls, “the end times.”

Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) was an evangelist greatly used by God.  When he spoke, the Holy Spirit moved and great numbers were saved.  He had a way of speaking the language of the Bible, so that his listeners could easily understand biblical truth.  One of his quotes discusses future events, “The Bible is the only news book in the world.  The newspaper tells what has taken place, but this book tells us what will take place.”  Instead of psychic readers, the horoscope, and spiritual mediums to learn about future events, go to the Bible, as your one, and only, reference.

In the Bible, there is much information about future events.  Jesus spoke about future events.  After His death and resurrection, the Lord spoke through the apostle John to describe future events in the book of Revelation.  “And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.  He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God” (Rev. 19:11, 13).  So, in order to know about the future, it is important to know “The Word of God.”

You want to know what the future holds for you?  The way to do that is simple: become a student of the Bible.  Therein lies your future.  Although you can learn your future in the Bible, the best way to prepare for it is by daily living to please the Holder of your future, Jesus Christ!
