Out With The Old, In With The New

You like new things.  Remember that first day of school?  You could not wait to go to school.  After you got into school, you wanted to be in middle school.  After that you greatly anticipated being in high school, and then in college.  After college, you were biting at the bit to start that first job.

What is true of your schooling, is also true of your spiritual life.  Trading the old for the new, seems to be a way of life.  Herodotus said it well, when he said, “There is nothing permanent except change.”   Like it or not, change occurs all the time in your life.  Just when you feel comfortable with something, before you know it, you have to change.

In regards to your salvation, you made a drastic change.  You went from a carnal person to a spiritual person.  Your thoughts and actions changed.  Scripture tells you of the great change that happened at your salvation: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away, new things have come” (1 Cor. 5:17).  The way you view life, and the way you respond to life events, all change with your new birth.

With your new birth, there was a drastic change in your life.  It is simply stated as: out with the old, and in with the new.  Your old view of life and the way you lived your life, are all replaced with the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit is your guide to direct your daily activities.

A change occurred when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  That change makes all the difference in the world to the way you live your life on earth, and to your eternal destiny.  With the Lord leading your life, there is another change that occurs; every day is a new day with changes.  Live your life as a new creature!
