Some people always look for something positive in whatever life brings them; others, always seem to take a negative attitude toward life. It does make a difference in how enjoyable life experiences are enjoyed by the individual. Let’s take a quick look at this personal characteristic called attitude.
“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative” (Clement Stone). The little difference of attitude and the big difference of it being positive or negative is what really affects our daily contentment.
The Bible is not silent when it comes to the kind of attitude that the believer should have. Philippians 2:5-7 puts it this way: “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of man.” The trait we see here is that Jesus Christ, being God, humbled Himself to take the role of man vice God. To have a correct attitude in life, the Christian must become a humble individual.
Our attitude is the most important decision we make on a daily basis. It is more important than prayer, Bible study, or even going to church. The reason for this is that if we perform these necessary privileges of a believer, but do it with the wrong attitude, it profits us nothing. Jesus was very condemning of the Pharisees, because they performed the right disciplines without having their hearts, or may I add their attitudes, in the right place.
Go out this week and work on putting your minds in the right attitude; it just might be the right small difference in your life that you have been waiting on!!!!
