Have you ever sat down and thought what is important to you? Take a few minutes and think about what really matters to you. These are the things that you spend most of your time and energy either thinking about and/or doing. It might be the occupation you are just starting or that you are in the process of developing into the next level. It might be your family with husband, wife, and possibly kids or grandkids. It might be how you spend your free time when you just want to relax. All these are important, but they also reflect in our lives what really matters to us.
As Christians, you need to take time and reflect on just how important living your Christian life means to you. I am not talking about living without any sin in our lives, but living above the sinful nature we have. How important is it for you to keep Jesus on the throne of your life? A Christian is: a mind through which Christ thinks, a voice through which Christ speaks, a heart through which Christ loves, and a hand through which Christ helps. When we keep those things in mind, and strive daily to accomplish them, we are on the right track to being the kind of Christian we should be.
The Bible talks much about our being Christ-like. Hidden away in a NT book is a verse that expresses Christ likeness. “When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory” (Col. 3:4). The part of the verse I want us to focus on is: “Christ who is our life.” Your life is to be involved totally around Jesus Christ.
Among the many things that are important to your life, let’s not forget to keep focused on Christ. He gives grace to you and motivates you to do good works. It is time for a mind shift—let Christ be the focus of your thinking and doing!!
